lifeNotes 004 - Reset
I am resuming my lifeNotes reflections after a hiatus. My intention is to reflect on the week and jot down few sentences that is worth remembering and processing.
Moving forward, Iām adopting a light weekend workflow:
- Friday evening: Draft raw notes.
- Sunday morning: Polish and refine.
- Sunday evening: Schedule for Monday morning publication.
With that routine set, here is what stood out for me from this past week:
š¶ļø Picked up two new pairs of glasses from Specsavers. Really pleased with both of them.
šļø I have decided to commit to Obsidian as my reference database and "second brain". After years on Standard Notes, I found it to be limiting at times. I do not have the time or energy to chase up the next shiny thing. I just need a system that grows with me. Thank you, Standard Notes. Hello again, Obsidian.
š The heat wave in the UK was a mix of good and bad. The sunshine meant quality outdoors time with my toddler, but the lingering heat at night made good sleep nearly impossible.
ā¤ļøā𩹠Emotionally and mentally, it has been a draining week dealing with ongoing relationship conflict. Perhaps, we can be classed as a high-conflict couple. I find myself leaning toward a quiet retreat just to preserve peace at home. It may not be the ideal solution, but my priority is ensuring my boy grows up in a calm, stable environment. Iām willing to carry the weight and burden if it protects his peace. As a man, I'm there to protect, provide and love. And, it is truly a thankless job.
